The Benefits of Ozone:

Ozone is a very powerful oxidizing agent, close to elemental fluorine in its power, and much stronger than chlorine – over one and one half times the strength. Therefore, ozone acts both as an oxidizing agent as well as a disinfectant.
As a disinfectant, ozone doesn't just kill bacteria, viruses, and other waterborne micro-organisms – it destroys them. In many cases it destroys them as much as 3,000 times faster than chlorine. More importantly, after ozone has completed the disinfection function, it quickly reverts back to its original form: pure oxygen.
There is no chemical residue added to the water, and there are no potentially hazardous reactions like those that chlorine can produce.
